WellLIFE Defined

The name
“WellLIFE” was derived from the verse ”Above all else, guard your heart, for
it is the wellspring of life” -
Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
The
phrase Wellspring of Life is an image of salvation; water was essential
for life in the arid regions of ancient Israel. God’s salvation and continuing
mercy to His people are often described in terms of life-giving water.
This verse tells
us from the heart, flow the springs of life. The Hebrew word for heart
(leb) refers to more than just our feelings; it is taken from a root word
that is best translated "the inner man" - which embodies the mind, will and
emotions. Why did the writer of Proverbs exhort us to "post a guard" over our
hearts? Because our hearts are prone to misplaced affections. And when the
integrity of our inner being is breached, it threatens our physical, emotional,
mental & spiritual health. It is our belief, to achieve optimal health,
one must have a foundation firmly planted in Christ – the Wellspring of Life.
We must also build-up, train and guard the inner man as well as the physical, to
achieve balanced whole person wellness.
The name “WellLIFE” is a combination of Wellness and the
acronym L.I.F.E. which stands for Life-Long, Integrative,
Functional-WellCare & Empowerment.
Functional whole-person WellCare is integrative, science-based (within a
God-centered foundation) healthcare which treats
illness and promotes wellness by focusing on the unique aspects of each person
and then employs individually tailored interventions to restore physiological,
psychological, structural, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance.
Key Components of Functional Whole-Person WellCare
-
Biochemical
individuality
- what works on one person may be ineffective for certain individuals.
-
Interconnectedness of
organ function
- chronic illnesses often comprise multiple organ systems and are only
resolved as a complex system. Working on digestion for example without
working on detoxification or immunity may be ineffective.
-
Personalized person
centered approach
- by treating the individual with their specific history, genetic makeup,
hormones and life style, we tailor more accurate and effective
interventions.
-
Views health and
disease as a continuum
- health is a relative state with illness, disease and death at one end and
health and vitality at the other. By understanding that most individual body
systems operate somewhere between dysfunctional and optimal levels, we judge
health as interconnected physiological processes.
-
Our faith in God and His
Word is our source of authority, providing the foundation and principles
for living wisely and a framework for understanding and applying what we
learn from valuable sources such as medical science and psychology.
Functional or integrative whole-person wellcare has become one of the primary frameworks by
which we deliver health and wellness services. Our job is to develop the most
accurate, insightful diagnosis possible and work with the individual on a
personalized basis to implement life-long health and wellness practices.

Logo

”Above all else, guard your heart, for
it is the wellspring of life” -
Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
The frayed heart covering
the apple depicts that we are a wellcare company focused on integrative whole-person
wellness. A life of poor choices and lifestyle can leave many physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual scars. We believe good health and wellness are not defined as the mere
absence of disease, but rather refer to mind, body and spirit operating in
harmony, with a full and balanced expression in every major area of life -
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. We must maintain a healthy
heart for good physical health and a healthy mind and spirit for good emotional,
mental and spiritual health...for it is the wellspring of optimal
whole-person health and wellness.
The center of our logo is a cross (Christ) guarding our heart.
”The health of the apple tells the health of the tree”
Luke 6:44 (Message)
The apple has always been
a symbol of good health. Verse 43 states "You don't get wormy apples off a
healthy tree, nor good apples off a diseased tree”. . . healthy apples come from
healthy trees. Our mission is “Educating,
managing & encouraging individuals and communities to make healthy lifestyle choices…promoting optimal health through
integrative whole-person wellness.” Just like faith works from the inside out, (as the
life-giving sap of a healthy tree produces healthy fruit) faith is a crucial element in overall health – you really don’t
have one unless you have the other. A tree grows and produces healthy fruit
from the nourishment it receives from it’s root system (foundation), it is our
belief that physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health operates at
optimal levels when a faith-based foundation is in place.
A “WellLIFE Center”
is the Healthy Initiatives term that it uses to describe the development of a church-based or
marketplace Healthy Initiative Ministry which offers Biblically-based and
Christ-centered whole-person wellness programs and services.
