Robyn’s Story:
I grew up with a big daddy. I’m talking whopping big. Over 350 lbs. BIG… with a
belly that sat in the lap of his lap…BIG!
I was raised eating a pathetic man made diet of fast foods, additives and
preservatives. At age ten I was already receiving demerol injections to combat
the debilitating migraines I was suffering from. I was constantly sick with all
kinds of immune issues. By the time I was eighteen, I was addicted to nasal
spray and nicotine. Next I developed hypoglycemia, where at times I would loose
my vision and hearing or even pass out. Sometimes I needed to eat as many as
three times in the night just to make it through to morning. I have had Epstein
Barr, mono, chronic fatigue, extreme candida and also suffered with severe
anxiety attacks.
Then... eight years ago, I got poisoned by the off-gassing molecules of
oil-based paint. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance, spent six hours on IV
and sent home with fistfulls of pills. At times people had to feed me and I
couldn’t even open my eyes. For months I could barely make it through each day,
each hour, each minute...
I have been amazingly blessed to learn, heal, and come out the other side with
vibrant energy and a passion to share what I have learned with others! I knew
nothing about creating recipes or writing . I had no role models and simply had
to learn how to eat raw foods in order to survive after being poisoned.
I have more than victoriously recovered from all those debilitating illnesses I
mentioned earlier.. By amazing grace, highly focused research, roller coaster
trial and errors and hours of creative kitchen episodes, I found the way through
the maze of intense body symptoms. Eating a balance of raw and whole cooked
foods, laid the foundation for recovery on a cellular level.
The people who were there feeding me when I was so ill, saw me slowly eek my way
through layers of toxic fallouts, back into the land of the living. When doctors
had no
solutions, I found myself in desperate prayers and God was faithful to lead me
every step of the way. Slowly, through juicing and eating all raw I began to
recover my strength and energy. In time, when people saw me with vitality again,
they wanted to know what I was doing. As I prayed for total recovery, God
revealed many things to me...
Recipes seemed to pour forth, filling my head! I kept being inspired to put
together all kinds of recipes (some all raw and some cooked) and the most
glorious energy and vitality seemed to be birthed from each new creation! People
asked for the recipes and
then wanted lessons.... It has been about four years since I began writing the
book and
teaching "hands on" workshops.
My slogan is: "Don't make food your religion, make it your wisdom". What God has
shown me, is that the choices we make in our food selections absolutely can have
negative consequences on our bodies, minds and overall well being. But God
showed me more importantly, in my long recovery process, that it is the renewing
of our minds that truly sets us free. We can eat the purest, most wholesome,
immune building foods yet if our minds are filled with negative, fearful, bitter
thoughts, we can cause much internal damage. We are not any more spiritual or
closer to God because of what we eat. However, making wise, informed food
choices can absolutely impact our energy, clarity of mind, and immune systems.
After spending so many days of my life, really ill and unable to function, it is
so glorious to have my spunk back! Life now, is on a wholesome new level and it
is an absolute honor and delight to get to share with thousands of people
through my book and workshops, how to shop for, transition into, prepare, and
ingest vibrant foods! When I teach workshops it is like being a kid again. I
always get so excited to meet each new class, as if it were my birthday party!
The recipes I make in front of people become living art. It is such a fun,
creative cuisine!
It is especially rewarding to see everyday people, just like me...learn and then
create a vibrant living cuisine that changes their lives! Now that raw foods
have become so popular, some want to glamorize it or biblicize it. I just want
to normalize the eating of raw foods into the everyday lives of busy, on the go
people!
It is my sincere hope that
RawSome Recipes
will greatly inspire, positively impact, and
delight you in your quest for vibrant living! Eat well and be well! Cheers,
Robyn Boyd

and Drinking Healthy

Fortunately, you
don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the weight problem of
most Americans is caused by the fact that we eat too much of the wrong things.
And it doesn’t take a degree in nutrition to know what the “right foods” are for
you to eat—fruits, vegetables, lean meats, less sugar, and less processed foods.
Most importantly, these foods should be eaten in smaller, healthier amounts—and
that will help you lose weight more effectively than any fad diet that will ever
come on the market. ...More

Ten Myths and Misconceptions
Related to Depression

1. You’re depressed because you want to be depressed.
We can only imagine what Charles Spurgeon, undoubtedly the best-known English
preacher of his day, whose collected sermons fill sixty-three volumes—the
largest set of books by a single author in the history of Christianity—might
have said to the suggestion that he was depressed because he wanted to be. This
great man of God, who struggled with depression for years once wrote, “There are
dungeons beneath the castle of despair.” In other words, Spurgeon’s view was
that he had suffered with depths of depression even deeper than those described
by John Bunyan in Pilgrim’s Progress.

One of
our friends often addresses groups of doctors on the subject of nutrition. For
several years now, he’s been taking an informal poll as he launches into his
subject. “How many of you supplement?” he asks. Ordinarily, 60 to 70 percent
raise their hands. “Why?” he asks, to which he hears a variety of answers, the
main point being, “Just in case I’m not getting everything I need from what I
eat.”
